Kolbensattel – Oberammergau

“I had a great time at Kolbensattel – Oberammergau. It's a fantastic spot for both kids and grown-ups. You can ride up in open carts that seat two people, making it an exhilarating experience. It's important to keep an eye on the kids, but they can have fun going down the slide or in a cart, depending on their preference. At the summit, there's a restaurant and a play area for the children. Despite being only 25 minutes from Qarmash, the place doesn't get too busy, which is a plus. There's also parking available, although there's a charge for it. I visited on a weekday and there was absolutely no wait. As for reservations, I'm not entirely sure if they're necessary.”

“I had an enjoyable day out with my work colleagues at Kolbensattel – Oberammergau. The wait time for the train was manageable and didn't cause any inconvenience as we were not in a hurry. I would certainly recommend making a reservation and I am looking forward to visiting again.”

“My visit to Kolbensattel – Oberammergau was a delightful experience for the entire family. We began by ascending to roughly 1,300m using the double chairlift, though one could also opt to hike. Upon reaching the top, we were greeted by a beautiful alpine pasture complete with a large playground, an archery/climbing parkour, and enchanting hiking trails meandering through the forest. We also discovered a circular hiking trail featuring a quaint chapel and an additional alpine pasture. We were charmed by the sight of a few cows along the trail, and the panoramic view was simply breathtaking. Later, we embarked on an exciting ride on the Alpine bobsleigh. Comprehensive instructions were provided, ensuring a safe and speedy descent down the track. The ride, full of photo opportunities and various challenges, was equally enjoyable for both kids and adults. An added convenience was that our backpacks were transported separately, paralleling the chairlift. It is worth noting that during holidays and weekends, some waiting time is expected. Yet, the variety of activities ensured that everyone found something to their liking. There's even a bike park located at the valley station. Parking is available but do note that charges apply. For those who prefer not to stop at the Alm, beverage machines are conveniently located both at the base and the top, allowing for the enjoyment of cold drinks. All in all, the services offered were excellent, making the entire experience worthwhile. I visited on a weekend and had to wait for around 30-60 minutes, but no reservation was required.”

“The Kolbensattel – Oberammergau is a delightful place to visit, though it does have its imperfections. The track itself is fantastic and allowed me to reach speeds of up to 56kmh, as recorded by my GPS. It can be disappointing when others are constantly braking in front of you, taking some of the thrill out of the ride. If you're apprehensive, it would be best to step aside and let others enjoy their ride. Nonetheless, the overall experience is quite enjoyable, and the staff here is notably amiable. The stunning view alone makes the visit worthwhile. As for the wait time, it's typically no more than 10 minutes, and there's no need to make a reservation.”
