“I found Hunter Mountain to have a decent number of runs for its size, although I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. There's only one green trail above the bunny slopes, making it more suitable for intermediate or advanced skiers. The lodge was in good condition and had all the facilities one might need. I interacted with two bartenders - one was incredibly friendly, while the other seemed to be having an off day.”

“I had the pleasure of visiting Hunter Mountain, a ski resort linked with Tokyu, and was pleasantly surprised by the range of slopes available given its close proximity to Tokyo. The drive can be precarious, especially along the Momiji Line which tends to freeze up, even with minimal snowfall. This is particularly true when coming from the Kinugawa direction, so caution is advised. During my visit, I found that the restaurant can get quite busy around lunchtime. However, they offer online pre-ordering for lunches, which I made good use of. The Mos Burger was a particular highlight. The gondolas are frequently busy, and there can be quite a wait on longer days - at times I had to wait for up to 25 minutes. But once you reach the top, the view makes it all worthwhile, so much so that I would recommend staying at the summit until you're ready for lunch. As for the courses, they are generally wide and offer ample room for carving turns. The F.D.R. slope with its humps was a joy to experience. I was also impressed by how well-maintained the courses were, with grooming carried out on a daily basis.”
